Hello FitBit!
It's been out of the box and on my wrist for ONE month now.
My mom and my daughter now have them too.
I guess it's what I needed.
I've been working out with a trainer for over 18 months now. Long time, right? You'd think I'd have made great strides. But no. I have built muscle. And if I fall I can get up without my knees feeling like they are going to give way. And I can get crawl under the bed to retrieve whatever Dixie has taken into her cave without feeling terrible pain in my knees. But I have not lost more than a couple of pounds in all that time and I need to lose more than a few ;)
So Hello FitBit! I had gotten some store emails about it. Looked it up and decided to give it a go. The very first day I didn't change anything and wanted to see what a typical all-work day was for me activity-wise. Well, it wasn't good. I took less than 3,000 steps and hadn't drank any water that entire day and I think that was my wake-up call. I spend far too much time working/sitting at my desk. I need to work and have a heavy load to support the family but I also need to take care of myself.
My husband has lost over 120lbs over the past few years and that's been quite the motivator too. Definitely want to be the smaller of the two of us and that's not as easy anymore! ;)
So I'm walking alot! And I'm logging my food and water and I am so much more aware. I think that's a big part of it. We all know we are supposed to exercise, drink 8 glasses of water and eat a well-balance diet, right?! Well, the osmosis didn't kick in, just becauise I know it doesn't mean it's happening.
I'm happy to report that ONE month in I'm down 7-1/2lbs.
It's a start. Long road ahead but I'm up for the challenge.
Move it to lose it!
