Last week I facebook'd about finding my rubber stamp designs being sold illegally in China. It was an inadvertent find. I was looking to show my mom how to find out information about artwork she had in the house. My husband had shown me this and I was amazed! You can upload through this method and find any information on the internet where the image might also be posted. When I was demonstrating, I used one of my digital stamp designs that had been licensed to Autumn Leaves [a manufacturer that is no longer in business] and found it being sold illegally over in China. Sadly, there's not a lot I can do about it because I don't have the resources for a legal team nor do I speak Chinese to communicate with them.
I did receive a number of messages asking for information on how to do this and wanted to share so you can use this method to find ancestors, get more information about artwork in your home or track down license infringements of your designs as well.
Step 1
Go to google.com and click on Images in the top bar
Step 2
Click on the camera icon
Step 3
Click on upload an image and locate the image on your hard drive
After you have uploaded your image, a screen will show up where google has found your image. You can click on interests from there.
Hope that helps you all!
