All packed up and ready to go we headed to Dulles to depart for Iceland and a mother/daughter adventure to celebrate Kelly's 18th birthday and upcoming graduation!
We departed at 8:50pm EST and arrived at 6:00am Iceland time!
We arrived to stormy skies and rain but soon learned that the weather changes frequently in Iceland.
We headed to the hotel to check in, have breakfast and then headed out to explore downtown Reykjavik via a free bus pass the hotel provided.
We found everything to be very expensive but managed to pick up a few trinkets and take in the sites and sounds of the town.
and then we concluded our first day, Kelly's 18th birthday, with a dessert
from room service!
I ended up taking over 2,000 pictures on this trip between the big camera and the iPhone and will be sharing a few of the highlights from each day on the blog and then many scrapbook pages to come!
