But there was hockey practice. So after practice today Kelly and I headed to check out the sunflower fields that Randy and I photographed last night. It's really quite an amazing site with rolling hills just filled with sunflowers. gorgeous.
My older sister and her family are only a little over an hour away but we really don't see them very often. With the kids all busy in sports and activities and working etc it's tough to get our schedules to match up. But we got to spend Labor Day with them on their boat out on the lake. The girls took lots of pictures and so did I! :)
And some more jumping off the walkway that goes around the lake!
A good way to mark the end of summer! Just hoping we get together again soon, but probably won't be until the holidays!
Through and through I am completely at home in NYC.
But this weekend at the rodeo was a lot of fun. My little brother used to play cowboys and indians all the time when he was growing up in the 70s [it's was okay to do that back then ;)] and watching this little guy all decked out in his cowboy gear watching all the action brought back memories.
And scrapping this page I decided I needed some more cowboy brushes and stamps. That's how it happens a lot. I start scrapping, want a little something for my page and get inspired to make something new. So the Wild Horses Brushes are being finished and will be making it to the store soon!
I'll be back scrapping about yesterday with the cousins soon! :)
Well, this passed weekend was packed! Saturday night Randy and I headed over to New Jersey to the Cowtown Rodeo! It's been years since I went to the rodeo. The last time I remember is back in Omaha with my dad... he loves the rodeo!
It was fun to take pictures but the security guard didn't seem to like us shooting. Kept saying we were blocking people when we clearly weren't. Some people, oy! But we managed to enjoy ourselves anyway! Doesn't this guy I captured look like the Marlboro man? Had to really crank up the ISO so it's a little grainy, but I love it!
This one [you can click the photo] from a page in the Pottery Barn Catalog is a favorite of mine! I love the idea of matted wooden frames and am working on a new set for the store!
I'm always asked where I draw my inspiration from and my Google Reader is set up to follow dozens of blogs that I find to be inspiring. One that I thought I'd share is Not Paper. I'm a huge fan of collage as you can tell by my digital scrapbook products. And I love all the posts here. They keep me thinking! Hope you find them inspiring too!
So I'm a bit behind. I always hope to be able to keep up with posting. Add more content. Remember that design series I did way back? I want to do more like that. But "the list" is long and my plate is very full. So I am going to try to focus on little snippets and gradually I hope to grow it into more!
I'll come back and catch up on the goings on around here. My birthday yesterday. How I smashed my car last night. All the fun things we've been doing the past few months.
But tonight was the first game of the 2010 JV Field Hockey Season. They lost against River Hill. But Kelly played well. I am proud and I took lots of pictures so it was a good night.
